Paediatric Surgery in Hong Kong has developed rapidly. From its humble beginning as a fledgling sub-specialty of general surgery, it has become a board certified specialty of the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong. Today, the standard of surgical care for children in Hong Kong is among the best in Asia and the management of certain disease conditions is on par with centres of excellence around the world.

   The establishment of the HKSPS in 2015 is a step forward in the further development of this specialty. Our main objective is to enhance the professionalism and competence of paediatric surgeons and related professionals in order to provide high quality healthcare services in paediatric surgery.

   We also act as both a social and academic platform for paediatric surgeons throughout the territory to interact amongst ourselves as well as with other related specialties and allied health professionals.
